We never know how strong we are until being strong is our only option (E.M. and M.S., November 13, 2014)

Dear group of professionals who make up the ITacC:

A few months ago, we were in your department really distressed by everything that previously and outside of you we had had to go through, in relation to a cancer operation that had been done to E. in another hospital. Not only did we find some great professionals at the ItacC, but also people with care, patience and understanding in the face of the despair that both the patient and the family had at that time.

You have always had a smile, a word of encouragement, a tranquility and security before what you told us that you transmitted it to us and it made us grow in the face of the adversity of the moment.

We never know how strong we are until being strong is our only option. This, accompanied by people like you, makes the journey much easier and safer. Every person we meet is struggling with their problems. Being nice to the person doesn’t make the problem solve it for you, but kindness may be the miracle you’ve been waiting for.

Now that the radiotherapy treatment has finished, analysis and some other tests are still missing and we are approaching the end … or at least we hope so …, we wanted to leave these words of thanks to all of you, but very especially to Dr. Gema Sanchez, who has always had an exceptional professional and personal treatment towards us. He has always been accessible to any questions, queries or concerns at any time of the day and giving us peace of mind in relation to all the treatment that has been administered.

As we have said, we only have words of thanks to everyone.

Without further ado and with all my love.

E. M. and M. S.
